I send my best wishes to all my Chinese friends for a very happy and prosperous New Year, the Year of the Sheep.
中国是马尔代夫伟大的朋友，也是非常可靠的朋友。在过去的2014年，马中两国关系更加深入和稳固，这为新的一年提升和拓展两国关系提供了机遇。我希望在2015年，两国之间交流更加频繁，两国之间合作更加务实。
China is a great friend of the Maldives – a reliable friend. The relations between Maldives and China have grown further and stronger in 2014. As we start a New Year, it gives us opportunity to enhance and expand these relations. I hope 2015 will be a year of more exchanges between our two countries, and a year of concrete results in the cooperation between our two countries.
2014年，马尔代夫共接收中国游客363626名，这一数字接近全部游客总数的三分之一。中国人民对我国如此厚爱，他们的到来大大推动了马尔代夫旅游业的发展，我对此感到非常高兴。在中国的新年到来之际，我谨代表马尔代夫政府和马尔代夫人民，向所有的中国人面致以真诚的问候和祝福，祝马中两国在新的一年里建立更加繁荣全面的合作关系。新年快乐！
Maldives welcomed a total of 363,626 Chinese tourists in 2014, which was nearly one third of all arrivals. I’m appreciative of the Chinese people’s great love for my country, and the role that Chinese people are playing in Maldivian Tourism. On the occasion of the Chinese New Year, on behalf of the Government of Maldives and Maldivian People, I would like to extend our warmest greetings and wishes to you all for a prosperous New Year that will see a future oriented all-round cooperative ties between Maldives and China. Happy New year (in Chinese: Xin Nian Kuai Le)!
