It is expected that this year's festival, which will last until June 23, will be attended by more than 6 million participants, including over 200,000 foreign guests.
Last year, Namangan received about 4 million tourists from more than 50 countries in a month, said the governor of Namangan region Shavkatjon Abdurazakov, speaking at the official opening of the festival. According to him, it was visited by 100,000 foreign tourists from near and far abroad.
The first day of the festival began with a traditional car parade. More than 200 cars of different models decorated with fresh flowers drive more than 10 kilometers along the main streets of the regional center from Namangan International Airport to the Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur Park of Culture and Recreation.
This year, the festival hosted guests from more than 40 countries. Among them are representatives of the diplomatic corps, officials of the regions and twin cities of Namangan, as well as foreign heads of joint ventures.
In addition, representatives of Azerbaijan, India, the Netherlands, China, South Korea, Turkey and Japan are taking part in the celebration of beauty and sophistication.
The festival once again confirms the country's status as a center of floral art. Hundreds of participants from all over the world came to show their unique compositions and enjoy the beauty, richness and diversity of Uzbekistan's nature.
