On the occasion of the most important traditional Chinese festival, the Spring Festival, I would like to extend to LOOKWE magazine and to its readers my cordial wishes for a harmonious, creative and prosperous New Year of the Sheep. I also wish to share the thought that the Sheep, symbol of peace, creativity and intelligence, will shape a promising future for the international community, full of hope, solidarity and remarkable achievements.
In an ever globalized world, forging strong ties among countries and among their people is of paramount importance. Greece and China enjoy excellent relations based on a very solid basis of a well-rooted friendship, of mutual respect and of fruitful cooperation in fields such as trade, investment, culture, education and tourism. Our plan is to further promote our relations. Our aim is to upgrade the level of our win-win cooperation.
2015 is a new landmark in the cooperation of my country, Greece, and China. 2015 is the Year of Maritime Cooperation between the two countries, and as such, it reflects a significant aspect of our strategic relations: the mutually beneficial interaction in the field of maritime affairs combined with the strong willingness to further expand our already flourishing collaboration in various fields and in the wider framework of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative.
